Detailed Answer:
It is hereditary disorder where gradual diminution of vision occurs.
It is genetically transmitted. It is a slowly progressive disorder which takes long time for complete blindness. Since there is no treatment it is advisable to take counseling for management with low vision.
With advancement there is hope in application of stem cell specialy embryonic stem cell.
Anti oxidant therapy is also recommended but there is no evidence of benefit progenitor cell for treatment and still it is in research stage. Vitamin A and various antioxidants are being tried. Still rehabilitation training to manage in low vision is best at present, which can be recomended.

Gene therapy is still in experimental stage and animal trial. At the moment stem cell application has raised hope for future. Patients should know real facts and face life. They should keep in touch with research work and progress in future. We should be hopeful for future progress in treatment.
