Suggest Treatment For Right Sided Pelvic Pain

default
Posted on Sat, 1 Aug 2015
Question: Hi. As I've written in I've had right sided pelvic abdominal pain for about 2 months now. Had a normal pelvic ultra sound, all blood work normal, periods are normal and no bleeding or spotting in between. My gastro doctor does not want to do a CAT scan or colonoscopy as ive had that 7 years ago and they both were normal. All of my doctors say the pain on the right side- primarily lower right side is muscular. My right leg even hurts from this and they dont see it as a gynelogical issue or stomach issue. Even when i wake up a night to use the bathroom or move in bed the cramp and right sided pain gets worse. They all tell me its nothing to be concernced with and stress is making it worse. I also should mentiom that with the heat and humidity i do notice a little more vaginal discharge than normal and am a little itchy and now wonder if the right sided pain is related to this. Also it feels like a horrible cramping sensation even when i sit or touch the area. Thanks for your help.

Brief Answer:
Muscular or neuronal pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Right sided pelvic pain is usually due to pathology in the ovary, colon , or muscular pain. If your ultrasound is normal and colonoscopy was normal earlier, then it is is less likely to be ovarian or colon pathology.
Muscular or neuronal pathology is a possibility, as your doctor said, as the pain increases on movement.
Vaginal discharge should be properly examined, and a vaginal swab examination should be done.
I would suggest you to consult a neurologist for proper examination, investigations including MRI if required and get treated accordingly.

The vaginal discharge is clear not colored so it could be a yeast infection correct but that is seperate from the muscular pain correct? Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly .

Brief Answer:
Vaginal candidiasis unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, thanks for responding. Yeast infection or vaginal candidiasis usually have a thick white vaginal discharge associated with a lot of itching. Clear vaginal discharge is generally not abnormal, and is due to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle, however you should get examined and investigated to confirm the diagnosis.
The vaginal discharge does not seems to be related with your pain.

Thank you very much. I have almost like discomfort and a cramp like sensation in my lower abdomen now as well. I think what is happening is i am very stressed and its causing all sorts of things to occur. The discomfort feels like being hit in the stomach so its not a gas pain just a sorrness. This can all be stress induced correct? This is the last question i am asking you and i will give you an excellent rating .

Hi dear, definitely stress can lead to exaggeration of discomfort. Soreness gives an indication that it is a muscle or nerve related pain.
