Hi XXXXXX, Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic.
Sounds to me like you have a head cold or allergies. That means you have a viral or bacterial infection or possibly allergies to something in your environment.
Can you tell me a bit more about how this runny nose started? Was it sudden? Do you have frequent episodes of runny noses? Have you had a fever recently? Has anyone else in your household suffered from similar symptoms?
Viral infections are pretty common. Unfortunately, antibiotics don't help with this type of infection. The bodies own immune system has to fight it off. The best you can do in that situation is get plenty of rest. Hydrate well (drink plenty of water) and take symptomatic treatments like Cetrizine to dry up the nose temporarily. Steam inhalation will help too.
If it is an allergic reaction, cetrizine will help in those situations as well, but it is an imperfect solution. It's better to identify what in your environment you are allergic to and attempt to eliminate it. If it's something you cannot avoid.. high class antihistamines like fexofenadine and certain nasal inhalers like fluticasone are better long term management.
So it all depends on what the cause of your symptoms is.
For now, I can suggest the following
1) Rest
2) Plenty of plain water to hydrate well
3) Steam inhalation
4) Tab Cetrizine 5mg twice a day w
I drank cold buttermilk in morning . And cold and running nose started
Can you tell me a bit more about how this runny nose started? -->I drank cold buttermilk in morning
Was it sudden? -->Yes afternoon I suddenly felt . But now its continuously running
Do you have frequent episodes of runny noses? -->Yes
Have you had a fever recently?--> No
Has anyone else in your household suffered from similar symptoms?--> No one
Not 100% sure, but I think it is allergic.

Hi XXXXXX, thanks for the follow-up.
It may be that the cold temperature of the buttermilk may have caused the reaction. Or it may be that you recently got an infection. I can't really differentiate the two in this case.
The Cetrizine will help though I think, so consider that. The rest of my advice from the former post still stand though.
If the runny noses are very frequent.. then I strongly suggest you find an ENT doc (Ear, Nose and Throat) that you trust and get a full examination done. If you have allergies.. then you will need better and more long term treatment than Cetrizine. An ENT is the best person to go to in these situations.
Hope this helps, Lemme know how else I can help you,
