Brief Answer:
symptomatic treatment and nose rinsing

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

a sinus infection may follow upper respiratory tract infections like the common cold or others. Headache is usually the most prominent symptom. If you don't have headache then the sinus infection diagnosis would be in doubt.

In cases of sinusitis without fever or serious symptoms the treatment consists of symptomatic measures only. Nasal irrigation may help to remove the secretions and promote recovery. Antihistamines may help with the runny nose although there's no proven benefit in sinusitis recovery. Decongestants may be used for a few days. Finally corticosteroid nasal sprays may provide some help. Drinking a lot of fluids definitely helps.

If the symptoms get worse (or not better) after a few days of doing the above and particularly if fever ensues, you should talk with your primary care physician for assessment, clinical examination and appropriate treatment.

Brief Answer:
can't be sure...

Detailed Answer:
You've got to understand the limitations of this conversation. I can't examine you, so although a very common complication of an upper respiratory tract infection is a sinusitis and your symptoms do resemble a sinusitis, I couldn't be certain about the diagnosis. You've got to visit your doctor for that.

Regarding your eye problems, I can't suggest anything more than paracetamol (acetaminophen) which may help with headaches (which may cause eye discomfort).

Kind Regards!

Brief Answer:
improvement of the infection will help in all symptoms

Detailed Answer:
I see.

Unfortunately I cannot provide any specific suggestions about this problem. In cases of sinusitis, when the infection gets better, the symptoms get better. So treating the sinusitis (after confirming the diagnosis with your doctor, of course) is the right way to go.

Make sure that you don't have anything more than this feeling like double vision or other visual disturbances because such problems would make it an emergency!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
