When it's plugged up I can take one bite of food no matter what it clears up. Soon after it starts up again. Does not run in my sleep, which I only get about between one and three hrs. Brief Answer:
non-allergic rhinitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using Healthcare Magic,
From your description it sounds like you have nonallergic rhinitis. Rhinits just means runny nose. People with allergic rhinitis are more responsive to medications than people with nonallergic rhinitis but there are a few things that often work for nonallergic rhinitis.
You may need to use a combination of these sprays to get complete relief as one of them alone may not be effective. These are all prescription medications.
First try a topical intranasal steroid. This takes a few weeks to start working and you may have been on this in the past. Next add to it the topical antihistamine spray azelastine. In addition to these nasal spray ipratropium bromide has been approved specifically to treat the symptoms of chronic nonallergic rhinitis.
You may need to use all to use all three sprays but some combination of these should take care of the problem.
People with nonallergic rhinitis do not tend to respond to oral antihistamines.
I hope you get the problem controlled as soon as possible.
Regards,
Dr. Robinson
