Suggest Treatment For Scalp Folliculitis
Question: Hi doctor.
ive been having scalp folliculties past a year which has now spread to face/nasal.
i had taken doxy and bactrium ds in the past, which cleared the issue but it came back. i had been using mupricoin daily past 3 months in nasal.
I've done the culture test and the results are here.
The dermatolgist who i consulted have asked me to take linezolid for 5 days along with mupricoin to be applied in nasal, fingers and anal areas.
My concern is i'm not sure if mupricroin is also resessitant. Is there a test where we can check it?
Since I used bactrium ds in the past and now the results show its become resistant, im concerned.
What should be the going forward treatment protocol?
Medications Tried: did culture test. Results
Organism - Staphyloccus aures
Highly sensitive - nitrofurantoin netillin meropenem imipenem linezolid gentamicin ceftriaxone/salbactam
Ressitant to: vancomycin co trimoxaole cirpoflaxocin cefuroime ceftazidime cefpodixime cefotaxime amoxyclav amoxycillin

You have tried most of the new generation antibiotics. When such situation arises I usually prescribed capsules rifampicin and have seen excellent response with that. You can try this in accordance with your doctor.
