Brief Answer:
Oral Fluconazole

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have read your query and I have noted your concern.

Tinea versicolor is an infection caused by yeast, malassezia furfur.
It presents as hyperpigmented patches on chest and upper back covered with a fine scale. Patches resolve with post inflammatory hypopigmentation which can persist for sometime.
I would suggest sungle dose of an Oral antifungal e.g Fluconazole 400 mg tablet. This is curative although hypopigmented patches may persist for sometime. It is a prescription drug and I suggest you to get it prescribed from your local doctor.
Tinea versicolor can recur especially in hot and humid season. You may use an antifungal soap for bath regularly to prevent recurrence e.g sastid bar.

Brief Answer:
Use pimecrolimus cream and expose to sun for a few days

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

As I said, post-inflammatory hypopigmentation Or white patches can persist for a long time even after adequuate treatment with oral antifungals. That does'nt mean that treatment was ineffective. Since you have takn adequate treatment, now for post-inflammatory hypopigmentation/ white patches, you may use pacroma Or elidel cream (1% pimecrolimus cream), twice daily and exposue to sunlight for 5-10 minutes daily, for a few days. That would bring the color back.
