Brief Answer:
You should have had too low Vit D.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The dose of Vit D you are taking suggests of a high defficency of VIt D. Usually this dose is recommended for a period of two months and than decreased.
Secondary hyperparathyroidism may be due to Vit D defficency. When Vit D lacks, parathormon level is raised to compensate the low calcium level. Once the Vit D is back to normal ranges, parathormon level will drop to normal level.
Rather the dose is the right one or not, you need to check the Calcium level in the blood, in the urine, magnesium, parathormone and Vit D level.
It will be a pleasure to help you further.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
