Brief Answer:
Seizure disorder is another term for epilepsy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted the symptoms, EEG reports and medications for your sister's daughter.

EEG is suggestive of seizure disorder, also known as epilepsy.

Valparin (sodium valproate) is a good medication for treating epilepsy. It should be continued for at least three years.

Abnormal behaviour may or may not be related to epilepsy. Sizodon can help in controlling the abnormal behaviour.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

thanks for your reply .. but is this abnormal behavior can be a serious issue . now she is on sizodon tablet . her behavior is little improved but not much . She is not at all ready to go to school for last one month . she will behave as if she is very small baby and wants to be with her mom all the time .

Do you feel we need to do some more tests to know whats the root cause for this and if this is because of seizure disorder , how long it will take to become normal with sizodon tablets .

Her abnormal behavior is making us tensed :-(

Brief Answer:
Get her evaluated by a psychologist too

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

Please ger her evaluated by a psychologist too so that her complete behaviour and any underlying stressors can be assessed.

She should get better in 2-3 months. If needed, an MRI of brain may be done later.

Best wishes,

Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
