Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Cramps And Diarrhea

I thought i may i have colon cancer but gastroenterologist believes its IBS. He seems pretty confident. He didnt do any test. He gave me a probiotic, benefiber, and a medicine to control spastic colons. Ive been on it a week. Not seeing much change. Ive tried cleaning up my diet but still struggle with it.
I still worry though that may be somethig serious. My doctor tells me not to worry but i cant help it.
Get colonoscopy examination
Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist.
I can understand your concerns. Although from the description of your symptoms it appears to be IBS only since there is no alarming feature and it happens only at work when obviously there will be stress even then I will advise you to undergo colonoscopy to see whether there is anything wrong or not. However if it is normal then it is IBS only
For which I will advise you:
1. take a course of probiotic
2. Take tablet of combination of clidinium bromide and chlordiazepoxide thrice a day half hr before meals. It will regularise your bowel movements and will help in relieving cramps also
3. Cap Simethicone 140mg thrice a day. It will help in expulsion of gas and will not allow further gas to be formed
4. Avoid food that increase gas like beans, pulses, cabbage, peas
5. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables
6. Avoid dairy products especially milk
I hope I have answered your query and this will help you . Wish you a good health

I stress over work but i especially stress over my health. I worry about it day and night. The urge to go the bathroom hits me right before i wake up for work. Then comes and goes through out the day. I find strange when i get home and have time off i am fine. Could stress and diet be the main issue here?
As far as colon cancer goes. Would i be having worse symptoms then what i have been dealing with?
take diet and medicines as advises and do regular exercise
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
Both stress and diet can cause all this. So do refular exercise to relieve stress and take diet as advised. As far as colon cancer is concerned it can occurr at this age but is very rare. Most commonly it happens in 6th decade.
If you do regular exrecise, eat health diet and take medicines as advised the symptoms will be relieved rather than become worse. Wish you a good health
