Question: My son is 33 years old and is complaining of a stomach ache. He has diabetes and is a little overweight. I gave him an antacid because he said it felt like gas but it hasn't helped. He said it feels like a stomach cramp.

Hi.
Thanks for your query about your son, albeit short.
To recapitulate: Male/33 - known diabetic - little overweight - complaints about stomach cramps felt like gas but antacid/tums did not help ...
Tums is antacid and hence it will help only to neutralize acid if that is the cause of pains - cramps is usually due to intestinal infection and not due to increased acidity., he also have gases.
Please give additional information:
Any other symptoms like loose stools, constipation, bloating, nausea, vomiting?
Any urinary symptoms?

There were no loose stools, constipation, nausea, vomiting, some bloating. No urinary symptoms.
Right now symptoms have gone when he got up this morning. He ate breakfast fine. Will contact if any other issues come up this afternoon. Thank you!
