Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain
Question: Daughter went to ER and had urinalysis done...showed wbc 11-30 , 10 blood, 500 leukolytes...no symptoms other than severe abdominal pain. Should we do further testing or assume it's just UTI?
Brief Answer:
For now, UTI is the most likely diagnosis!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
After reviewing the attached test and the information provided, UTI is the most likely diagnosis. I will go ahead to treat with antibiotics as suggested by her doctor already. I will only do/recommend any further tests if this treatment fails to resolve her symptoms fully.
I wish you well and your daughter a speedy recovery. Keep me posted on this.
Kind regards!

Just got culture results back and it says 'No growth 2 days' so doesn't that mean there is no infection? What else could it be if not a UTI?
Brief Answer:
Is she feeling better?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The micro-organisms that cause urinary tract infection may not always grow on all culture mediums. At this time, I will like to look at her response to treatment. If the symptoms are getting better, then I will say we are on a right track and we should continue.
If she is however not feeling better, I will suggest that she should return for more testing to look for other germs such as mycoplasma and ureaplasma that are difficult to grow.
I wish you well and hope to hear back from you. I wish you well.
Kind regards
