Brief Answer:
May be habitual constipation, but need to rule out Hirschsprungs disease
Detailed Answer:
Hi.... I have just gone through your answers. There are two most important points in the information you have provided, they are, not passing meconium on day 1 of life and been constipated since birth. These two important points make me think about the alternative diagnosis of Hirschsprungs disease which is a congenital condition. To rule this out he will require a rectal biopsy and I suggest you approach a paediatric surgeon regarding this.
The below are my suggestions for constipation -
Suggestions:
1. Natural methods are the best to relieve constipation.
2. Maximum milk consumption per day should not exceed 300-400ml. As he doesn't take milk, this is not a problem.
3. Minimum 3-4 cups of fruits and vegetables to be consumed per day
4. Toilet training - that is - sitting in XXXXXXX type of lavatory daily at the same time will help a lot.
5. At least 2 litres of water to be consumed per day.
