Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough While On Corex

Question: My wife is coughing a lot especially in night for past few days despite taking cough syrup such as corex and other ayurvedic cough syrup

No,there is no wheezing sound from chest and she coughs in day also but the frquency is more during night.kindly advice medicine for the same

Start broad spectrum antibiotic like levofloxacin or Azithromycin.

I can understand your concern.
So, she is having coughing into day and night but more in night.
In my opinion, you should get done chest x ray to rule rule out lung infection because she is not improving with routine cough medicines like corex.
In my opinion, you should give her five days of antibiotic course.
So give her broad spectrum antibiotic like levofloxacin or Azithromycin.
Also give levocetrizine and montelukast tablet twice daily.
Try all these for 5 days. If she improves then no need to worry. But if she fails to improve then chest x ray is needed.
Please let me know her weight so that I can guide you about exact dosing of these drugs.
