Question: I have been feeling really exhasted lately, more so that I ever have.I believe it is a symptom of working way too hard, for too many hours each day, for too many months. I also beleive I suffer from depressin and I have not been eating properly for some months.. I live compleely alone and own a new business. I have no support group, family or partner with me here and spend months at a time alone, except or my customers. I have been getting headaches, daily, in the temple areas of my head and in both sides of my neck. Some of the pain feel like a sinus infection and my cough is productive. I have develped a cough that feels like it is coming from the upper part of my lungs. I have read that the headaches are likely a result of tension or stress. I worry. Can you give me any indication as to whether this is the truth or not. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Headache can occur in many conditions

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to inform you that headache is very non specific symptom and can occur in variety of conditions. This includes stress, tension, lung infection, sinus infections, excessive burden of work and lot more.

However I like to state categorically that productive cough is never a symptom off depression and we need to look for infective cause. In addition I like to state that if the headache is only complaint related to depression probably you are not depressed.

For making a diagnosis of depression we need certain set of symptoms of atleast five in number such as sadness, loss of interest, loos of energy, loss of attention and concentration, sleep disturbance, activity disturbance among others.

In my opinion you need to see a general practitioner/family physician before making a self diagnosis of depression. It is possible that treatment of infection you will be alright.

I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.
