Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern. It must be really awful having a health issue while travelling, I can only imagine the extra fear and uncertainty.
Headache and fever can be signs of different types of infections, so it is a little difficult to evaluate what system is involved, much is depended on other signs noted by the doctor on physical exam and lab tests she's had.
Regarding the nausea, it is true it can be a side effect of the antibiotic, but on the other hand there isn't any antibiotic taken by mouth which doesn't carry the potential to develop that type of side effect, levofloxacine (glevonix) is among the ones with fewer side effects, that particular side effect is evaluated to be present in around 7% of the cases. Keep present not to take it one an empty stomach, if really bothersome it can be considered switching to injectable form.
Levofloxacine has a very broad coverage so it is a good choice to start with if the exact type of infection is not known. If there is some improvement during these first days it can be continued. If however the intensity of her symptoms remains the same, than concerns on efficacy and type of infection are legitimate and I think she should be re-evaluated by the doctor.
I hope things work out for the best.
