Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back And Testicular Pain
Question: Have had testicular pain and been checked out by urologists, etc, which found nothing. I then went to a chiropractor that stated he thought it might be a previous back injury - ligament around my lower back causing the pain. He put me on a spinal decompression regiment and from the first time I did it it - almost elminated my sciatica and testicular pain. Now, however, my lower back is killing me worse than it almost ever has. Are there any exercises/ devices (inversion chair)/ NSAIDS (taking ibuprofen/ naproxen- not helping) that can help my back either not be so sore or aid in the healing process. I will continue going to the chiropractor but can only make it a few times a week due to work, and him not being open on the weekend.
Brief Answer:
Gabapentin will help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
The pain in the scrotum and sciatica were due to pinching of the anterior division of the lumbar and sacral nerves. Following the treatment by the chiropractitioner the pressure on the anterior division is relieved but the discs are now pinching on the posterior division of the nerves and producing back ache. If you do a MRI of the lumbosacral spine, this would be seen.
Gabapentin (Neurontin ) will help relieve the pain. It is best not to do any exercise with the pain. Rest and firm back support by a medical (orthopaedic ) mattress would help.
