Question: Hi, I have a 16 year old daughter who keeps going warm and feeling nauseous. She was ill in January with a vomitting bug and doesn't seem to be over it. Our doctor did a blood test but everything was good. She's absent from school today because of feeling sick. Can you help?
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
This may be due to some viral infection with gastritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

Fever with nausea can occur due to some viral infection. Gastritis causing nausea is very common in any infection.
Please let me know why you are saying that she has not overcome her illness since January. Are the symptoms continuing since January or she became asymptomatic and now feeling warm and nauseous after a symptom free interval?
For present illness I would suggest you to give her paracetamol(an antipyratic for fever)if temperature is more than 99 Fahrenheit and pandol for nausea and gastritis.
Give her plenty of water. The symptoms should subside within 2-3 days. If fever gets high, there is frequent vomiting or if she feels abnormal please get her evaluated by a physician.
Also provide me details so that I better able to help you out.
Wishing for your daughter's good health.
Regards

Her symptoms come and go, she can be OK for a few days even a week and then she complains of feeling nauseous and warm again, which may last for a couple of days.

Brief Answer:
Monitor temperature and give Pandol

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up

I won't get overly worried for intermittent nausea and warm feel as the CBC report is normal and otherwise child is active.
Sometime feeling warm itself does not suggest fever and it is better to measure temperature. Here I would request you to check the temperature whenever she feels warm and give Pandol for nausea.
Make sure that she is taking her meals regularly without skipping the breakfast as this precipitates the nausea tendency.
Let me know if temperature is high and also if you need any further help.
Regards
