Suggest Treatment For Severe Oligohydramnios Late In The Third Trimester

Question: Hi,

My wife is in her 38 the week of pregnancy. Today we had scan and it showed EDD as Dec first week. But doctors are asking to admit immediately as fluid level is very low. I am attaching the report. Also we had u/scan Doppler and the result came as "Normal Study".

Can you plz tell how serious is the matter and how many more days we can wait for delivery??

I have gone through your wife's reports thoroughly.

Severe oligohydramnios that occurs late in the third trimester may cause the umbilical cord to become compressed around baby, which cuts off the baby's oxygen supply.

So, it is important to go for her delivery immediately.

I would agree with your doctor and suggest you should get her wife admitted immediately.

Thanks doctor. Is it safe to have delivery at 38th week as she dint complete 9 months??

Any complications to the baby??

In my opinion, waiting for 9 months to be completed can cause more problems due to severe oligohydramnios.

So, I would suggest you to get her admitted and follow your doctor's advice.
