Hello and welcome
Your concern is appreciated
Pacemakers are installed for those people whose heart are abnormally slow or too slow so this device regulate heart beat when heart becomes too slow it can be set on mode where it fires regardless of heart intrinsic activity or it can first sens the cardiac activity and only fires when needed so it doesnt shock all the time. If you are experiencing any problem regarding the pacemaker or any symptoms like that an ECG is must to check if the device is working properly or not some times it also seen under fluoro to check if the lead is placed in proper heart chamber or site where it should be.
Hope it helps
Thanks
