Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Head
Most likely it could be migraine.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.
I have noted your symptoms and the most likely cause could be migraine. At this point, you can take naproxen or rizatriptan tablets to relieve the head pain. If the headache frequency is high, you would also need preventive medications such as topiramate (to reduce the severity and frequency of headaches).
If symptoms persist despite anti-migraine treatment, a brain scan may be needed.
I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
Best wishes,

Brain scan may be done in the beginning too.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.
If you feel that this pain is unusual or more severe, then, a brain scan can be done at the start itself, so that we are 100% sure about the diagnosis. An MRI with MR venogram would be ideal.
