Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Inner Leg Above The Knee
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I have been experiencing pain in the inner leg region slightly above the knee. It feels like a muscle strain and has been ongoing for about a week. Today I noticed that the area is now bulging out and others tell me that they can tell where it is bulging. It is painful to walk or stretch the area. My concern is possible blood clot. What do you think?

Hi,
I admire your positive outlook and appreciate your observations.
Now I see that you have pain around the knee region.
There are lots of pathological causes responsible for your problems.
As per your clinical history is concerned, please let me know more about it--
1) Do you have any recent injury history ? Do you hear “POP” sound when you bend the knee ?
2) Do you feel more pain while climbing stairs?
3) Is there any visible swelling in that knee ? Please share the image of bulging. You can simply upload/attach the photo in the reports section of this web-page.
Please follow-up with these details so that I can assist you further.
Awaiting....

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
As per your image please follow :-
1)apply a warm, wet compress, such as a cloath dipped in hot water and wrung out, to the affected area.
2)You can take over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen+paracetamol
3)You often need rest to aid your recovery from the under laying condition
4)Do a CBC with differential only and as per your doubt about blood clot it is not a clot at all as there is no history of calf muscle pain.
So your doctor will prescribe medication as per underlying cause by blood report only.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further clarifications, please do not hesitate to write to me.
Wishing you all the best.
Thanks
