Question: I have a painful right knee and I also use eliquis 5 mg bid. Can I use alive or Advil to treat the knee pain while I am on eliquis. Also the orthopod may wish to inject my knee with a steroid when I see him later today. Is there any contraindicTion to having this done while I'm on eliquis?

Brief Answer:
Single incision is safe

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Single injection of steroid is not contraindicated. You just inform your doctor that you are taking blood thinner. He has to use as thin needle as possible and also need to apply compression bandage so that blood does not get accumulate in knee joint. I hope everything will be fine.
thanks
