Question: I have been eating a vegan diet for 13 days now. I would like to make this a permanent lifestyle change by my body is extremely uncomfortable. I feel like I might have IBS from switching to the vegan diet. I have intense stomach cramps and diarrhea. I don't want to eat meat and dairy but I don't want to feel like I'm going to the bathroom every hour. I have tried drinking kombucha (it helps) and taking probiotics (I don't think that is helping...) I really do not believe I have a gluten intolerance (I honestly haven't really eaten gluten the past two weeks)... Should I try decreasing the fiber in my diet? What should I avoid and what should I add to my diet to stop this!

Brief Answer:
Reduce fruits, vegetables and fibers. Increase carbohydrates and soy!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this frequent watery stools and all the symptoms that you have reported. Seen the fact that this coincides with the change in your diet plan, the change is the most likely explanation for all the observed changes. I will suggest that you go ahead and reduce fiber, fruits and vegetables in your diet. At the same time, increase your intake of play proteins and carbohydrates so as to her make the stools harder.

With these adjustments am confident you would feel better. Keep me updated about this. I wish you well and thanks for using our services.

Play proteins aren't a real thing?! Can you explain? What kind of foods do you suggest I eat if I am decreasing my fruits and vegetables? These are a huge staple to the vegan diet.

Brief Answer:
Plant proteins and not play!

Detailed Answer:
HI,

They are huge stables for a vegan diet but keep the quantity to volumes that will not lead to diarrhea. I have suggested you increase plant proteins and reduce the huge veggies. Keep me posted with your progress.
