Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Pain Along With Loose Stools
Question: Am having bouts of strong stomach pains with runny stools. I ride my bike about 30 miles a day and have had to skip days at least twice a month. We do have ticks but in the fall. I have minor joint pain but at 62 who doesn't . I have been very healthy all my life but the dizziness and fatigue are starting to worry me. My husband was recently diagnosed with Hep C (being treated with Harvoni). I was diagnosed with gastric dumping but have not had any stomach surgery. they also said my stomach is "j" shaped, abnormal. The last doctor said he saw a growth on my pancreas but was unable to see it due to the shape of my stomach, in a scope procedure. I am 110 lbs. and 5'3" so body weight is no concern to me.

I am concerned with the stomach cramps and diarrhea (sp?). I do not take any medications and try to watch what I eat. It is like flare ups that do go away after a few days but cramps are so strong that I actually throw up.
Could this be caused by a recurring virus?

How old are you?
Have you ever had a colonoscopy?
Where are the cramps located?
What is in the diarrhea? Is there mucus or blood?
Are the cramps relieved with diarrhea?
it would be very unlikely to have a reoccurring infection that would be causing your symptoms.
have you started any new medications?
Have you been around anybody sick?
Have you traveled anywhere?
Please send me additional information.
Thank you

I am 62
Have not had a colonoscopy
the cramps are lower mid abdomen and are relieved by the diarrhea for a short time. The diarrhea has mucus but not until there is nothing else left
I do not take any meds and have not traveled. My spouse is hardly ever sick and we live in the country and go into town for shopping about once a month

Thank you. I did have a ct scan and that is when they found the growth on my pancreas but could not see it in a scope procedure. I will ask for a colonoscopy although I know I will not like it. We recently moved 250 miles so am trying to get a new pcp. Your suggestion of allergies is one I will bring up with the new pcp. I have never been allergic to anything but am finding every time I get bit by a red ant (we are working on getting rid of them) I swell more and more. Thinking back I did get into an ant hill and got bit several times about three days prior to this last episode. Again, thank you.
