Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Pain And Cramps

Specialist opinion and investigations
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read the history and understood your problems.
To recapitulate: Female / 34 - stomach pain - nearing or on time of period - constipation followed by diarrhea in the week following period - normal for ensuing 2 weeks - repeats the problem - suggested diagnosis is endometriosis - can it be a GI problem ? -
You have put a nice differential diagnosis between endometriosis and GI related problems.
This can best be solved by an opinion of a Surgical Gastroenterologist and obviously a Gynecologist.
I would advise you the following:
Opinion of the Specialists as said.
Investigations:
Routine of blood, urine and stool.
Ultrasonography to start with and a CT scan of the whole abdomen including pelvis.
Colonoscopy.
These should help to get a probable cause of GI nature or rule out the commonest problems like colitis and anything related to the intestinal tract.
It is possible that the hormonal changes at a given time of periods can also have indirect effect on the intestinal tract.
This may also help to confirm or rule out possible Gynecological causes as PCOS, PID, Endometriosis and so on.
in certain cases a Diagnostic Laparoscopy for the direct visualization of the abdominal contents can help to get a probable cause for the pains and other symptoms you have.
Once a proper diagnosis is made, further treatment plan is possible to give you relief or cure.
Please discuss all these points with your Specialist Doctors.
I hope this answer helps you to get an early and proper diagnosis and treatment.
Please feel free to ask any further relevant query if you need to or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communication.

Colonoscopy noted already for this
Detailed Answer:
Certainly yes.
But the medical science is based on the evidence, hence I have noted the colonoscopy as an investigations which should be done.
By suspecting a specific diagnosis at this juncture just on history alone is just increasing the anxiety and the stress, which I wanted to avoid. CT scan abdomen and colonoscopy will certainly help.
You have given a history of changed bowel habits.
