Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Irritation And Gastritis
Question: Dear Doctor
I had some throat irritation recently but was not coughing. I visited ENT Doctor who checked my throat and initially gave me Motilium and Parie. I took that for some time but did not realize any good result. On my second visit he asked that I undergo endoscopy. This confirmed I have Helicobacter Pyroli. He then prescribed Amoxacillin,Nexuim Clarithromycin. I have almost completed the dose but feel irritation when eating and dry throat. What could be the challenge.

Hi, thanks for your query. In my opinion, you might be having a allergic pharyngitis with gastritis. Amoxicillin and clarithro are antibiotics . H - pylori infection can cause gastritis which can cause irritation in throat. If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed proton pump inhibitors with prokinetcs drug like pantoprazole 40 mg with domperidone 10 mg combination drugs once in empty stomach for 6 weeks.and antihistamines tablet daily 1 for 4 weeks.
