Suggest Treatment For Severe Upper Back Pain And Non-productive Cough
Question: About 3 weeks ago I had sudden onset of intense pain on the left side of my upper back, around the lower edge of scapula. This pain has come and go since then, but when I have it, it is stabbing, intense pain that is worsened by trying to take a breath. I now have a non-productive cough that accompanies the pain and the pain is more frequent (occurs most of the day) for the last 3 days. Movements do not cause pain including stretching, bending and twisting of upper body and arms. Tonight the pain is pretty bad, again worsened when trying to take a deep breath. For the past 4-5 days I've had a decrease in my appetite. No fever.
Brief Answer:
Get examined!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I suggest that you kindly get examined for this pain. It could signal a lung infection given that it is only provoked by deep breathing and cannot be turned on by pressing. Also, an xray in addition to the complete clinical exam would help make the picture clearer.
Keep me posted about this outcome. I wish you well.
