Hi xxxxxxxxxx

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
How was your day?

Hope this message finds you in good health.
I have gone through your query in detail and understand your concern.

You might be going through lots of pain while walking and bearing weight on the affected limb.
If ,during the fall, there was no "twisting" of your knees, then there is absolutely nothing to worry. Twisting can damage the ligaments in and around the knee, particularly if you have had an operated meniscal tear earlier.

Landing on the knee will just cause blunt trauma to the cartilage and the soft tissues and most probably wont cause any serious injury to knee.

Hope the knee is not swollen and, though painful, please let me know the range of movements you have in that knee.

Apply ice packs, avoid climbing stairs, sitting crossed legged, squatting or sitting on the floor as it will cause more harm to the knees.

Use a knee cap or compression bandage. Take analgesic / anti inflammatory tablets. A local analgesic gel will help immensely.

Continue this for 3 days and see the improvement. If it worsens or if you get no relief, get an xray done.

I would suggest that you send me a photograph of your affected knee so that i can guide you better.

You should eventually get back to normal in coming few days.Nothing to worry about.

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Welcome back

i have seen your knee photograph and its considerably swollen.

well, if you had a twisting injury ,felt a pop, and if the knee is swollen, then you should get an xray / MRI of the knee done immediately.
If there is any internal injury, then just giving rest and taking tablets wont help.

we need to rule out any internal damages

do let me know once the reports are ready

I hope your question has been answered.
