Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

I am sorry you are having so much trouble! I have had shingles and know how nasty it can be.

I think you need to go in to be seen about the knee. If you have one available, you can go into an urgent care center yet tonight. There are a number of things that might be going on - everything from a torn ligament to an infection. They will be able to at least start sorting that out my having a look, probably an xray, and they might draw a complete blood count.

About the persistent shingles pain, a low dose of amitryptiline (a tricyclic antidepressant) can be very helpful for post herpetic neuralgia and pain (ie pain that continues after shingles infection).

So do go in tonight, for evaluation of your knee, and help for the shingles paiin.

Please let me know if I can provide further information.
