Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath, Chest Pain And Anxiety
![default](/r/images/default.png)
The effect of Ashwagandha alone is unclear
Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern.
1. Although it is used in anxiety, but there are no significant evidences that proves its use authentically.
2. Since Ashwagandha causes irritation of GIT, thus should not be used in any associated problem of stomach ( you are suffering from GERD & H.pylori infection) Further Ashwagandha lowers blood pressure ( both systolic & diastolic), thus could be reason of shortness of breath. It also causes cause sedation and respiratory depression ( which you are experiencing).
3. Symptoms such as these usually last for a week or two after withdrawal of ashwagandha. If you are excessively troubled by these adverse effects, I suggest see your treating doctor who can tests your blood parameters.
4. From my vast experience in ayurveda and herbs, I am not aware of any herbs which will clear these adverse effects. However drinking plenty of water is known to flush the herb sooner. I recommend the same to you.
5. Lastly if you wish to try herbal means to treat primary symptoms of anxiety, you can try turmeric, whole Vitamin C, Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), Amla (Indian gooseberry) which are best suited alternative to Ashwagandha. Your treating doctor will know about these alternatives.
Hope your questions are answered.
