Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Amphetamine

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Aug 2016
Question: I've been taking adderall for a handfull of years now. I have searched nonlinear and found that the amphetamines in the drug can/do cause gums to recede. I also have my lower teeth crowding and one tooth in particular has recently started causing a lot of pain. Today I had to cut my sandwich up into little bites because it hurt so much to have any pressure on that tooth. Today I've been taking 800 My's of ibuprofen to deal with the pain. It also seems a bit loose. Am I going to lose this tooth? Is there something I can do to reverse this problem?

Brief Answer:
Seems to be due to gum.infection or tooth infection..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain yes, it is true that long term use amphetamines like Methamphetamine can cause tooth decay and gum recession but generally medicinal doses of drugs are not seen to cause very severe side effects..

In your case as you have crowded teeth and along with it pain and loosening of a single tooth, it can be probably due to gum infection..

As crowded teeth are difficult to clean therefore they are more prone to cause deposits of plaque and tartar over the teeth and causing gum infection that can cause gum infection leading to pain and mobility of teeth..

Secondly there can also be decay in tooth that can lead to tooth abscess formation and can cause pain and loosening of tooth..

I would suggest you to consult a Dentist and get evaluated and get an x ray of the tooth done..

You can revert back with the scan of the X-ray so that I can guide you better..

Reversing of condition depends on the severity of the mobility of tooth and the exact cause of the problem..

As of now continue taking Ibuprofen for pain relief..
You can also do warm saline gargles and apply Lignocaine Gel over the gum of the painful tooth..
Avoid chewing anything hard with that tooth to avoid pain and further loosening or loss of tooth..

Any further questions are welcome..

Regards.
