Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.

I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

Can you upload a picture of the lesion to our system so I can have a look at it?
Also I will need some more information in order to give a more accurate answer:
How did it start and how did it develop?
Any other symptoms? Fever? Swollen? Bulging?
Any skin damage? Is it itchy?
Lympnodes in groin area?
What makes it worse and what better?

Looking forward to your follow up question.
Regards,
Dr.Papaqako

Assisting on construction site doing lifting, pushing, etc within physical ability.

No sudden onset of pain. Pain developd gradually over 4 hours. Rested for lunch, situation seemed to improve. Worked 5 more hours, but extremely painful. Difficulty bending over, stooping, lifting, etc. At end of day, Friday, could barely stand and extreme pain in left Ishial tuberosity area when driving home. On the previous day, Thursday, did some running and yoga. Groin muscle felt like moderate strain.
Hot bath with Epsom salts seems to provide temporary relief. Can't sit or lie down without aggravating area. feels like some swelling of hamstring tendon connecting to Ishial bone. There is no itching, no skin damage. Brusing(red discoloration) in left groin area. Large black and blue discoloration 5-6 inches in diameter onleft leg located 5 inches below ishial area on hamstring. Difficulty uploading picture

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thank you for the follow-up question and the good description. It helps a lot.

So what I am understanding from your explanation makes me think of these possible problems and suggestions for you:
-- Take painkiller for the pain, so you would start feeling better. Ibuprofen 400-600mg 3 times/day as needed.
-- The bruising it is weired and the red area as well, without a skin damage. It may be that you have hit it somewhere and you don't remember it? Because either it is a trauma, or cellulitis or you have a problem with blood platlets. If the area it is spreading in red color and it is painful in touch and you you start having fever...then you should immediately consider going to your local physician so he can prescribe antibiotics.
Also, the pain near the bone, may be inflamation and the painkillers will help with it. It may have been caused by overuse of the joint during your work. What I want you to be attentive though it is the fact that may make you so painful as you are not able to bare weight on that leg side. In this case we will think of a possible fracture or luxation of the hip and to rule that out you will need an x-ray.
As I said above, if red bruising area increases, consider a complete blood count to rule out problems with platlets.
If warm bath helps-continue with it. Cold packs may be helpful too, but if you don't feel well with them, then don't use them.
Rest and elevation recommended too.

Let me know if I answered your questions and if you have other concerns, or if new symptoms have developed.

Regards,
Dr.Papaqako
