Suggest Treatment For Sinus Infection
Discussion follows
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome back and thanks for your query.
There is a tube connecting your middle ear with the nasopharynx ( Eustachian tube).
The infection would have spread to your right ear through that or the inflammation closing the opening of the tube in the nasal side, can create pressure changes within the middle ear causing pain which comes on and off.
Close your nose with your fingers and swallow repeatedly. This would help open up this tube thereby removing the pressure differences and also let the infected material drain out. Do this several times a day. Also you can take steam inhalations to clear the passages.
There is an OTC medicine Reparil dragees which will help reduce the inflammation. You could take 2 tablets twice a day.
The gland you feel on the right side is due to the infection in your ear and adjoining areas. Now that you have taken 10 days of antibiotics, it is expected to subside soon. If it does not subside, you may require a different antibiotic.
Do let me know the progress.
