Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Your symptoms are due to chronic sinusitis and sometimes its management is a challenge. And recurrent episodes need evaluation for some underlying cause or risk factor like deviated nasal septum, nasal polyps, allergies and hay fever, exposure to allergens and pollutants etc.
Pseudoephedrine for sure helps and rightly said due to side effects, its use is not advised quite often these days. Nasal irrigation with saline and use of nasal corticosteroids is the better way for management. Apart from it treatign underlying cause like allergen immunotherapy if allergies, deviated nasal septum correction surgically if the cause, aspirin desensitization if sensitivity the cause along with judicious use of antibiotics may be needed. If all measures fail, endoscopic sinus surgery may also be planned.
What you can do at home for now is rest, take adequate fluids, use moisturizers and humidifiers to keep your sinuses moist, apply warm compresses to your face, use saline water to frequently irrigate the sinuses, sleep with head side of the pillow elevated, avoid smoking and dust and avoid allergens.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Nasal corticosteroids drops and if need be oral corticosteroids are prefered, cortisone shot is last resort mostly not needed. Antibiotics may not be needed if no greenish discharge and fever. Yes visit your doctor and discuss aove mentioned options with them and let them decide what is best for you.
