Suggest Treatment For Skin Infection In Upper Part Of The Body

default
Posted on Tue, 15 Sep 2015
Question: I have got some skin infection in my upper part of the body since last two days. I went a water park last Friday and due to my hectic schedule I couldn’t take my bath on the same day. I am guessing that could be the reason for this infection.
I have tried Avil (25mg) yesterday. For reference I have attached pic of the infected part. Please suggest what all precaution and medication should I take?

Brief Answer:
Allergic contact dermatitis/Pityriasis rosea

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.
I have read your query. I understand your concern. I have seen the attached photographs also. As per details, there are following possibilities for your symptoms -
1 ) Allergic contact dermatitis : it is characterised by red colored itchy eruptions over body. The allergen may be dust, dirt, new clothing, deodrant, any cosmetic use, chemicals in swimming pool etc.
2) Pityriasis rosea: it is caused by virus resulting in asymptomatic or mildly itchy red scaly rash over body usually involving chest and upper trunk.
In both cases, antihistaminics like levocetrizine helps.
You should visit your doctor so that he can examine you and give you prescription.
You can share my opinion with him.
I hope it helps.
Take care
