Question: Hello, a few weeks ago, I found a small bump on the right side of my collar bone close to my shoulder. It doesn't hurt or irritate me. It can also be moved around and is slightly visible. Is this normal? If it makes any kind of difference, I'm 18 years old.

Brief Answer:
Excision.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read your history of a non-tender and non-painful small bump on the right side of collar bone close to the shoulder, can be moved around and slightly visible.

Definitely this is not normal, as this can be due to a lipoma or a sebaceous cyst as the commonest reason.

I would advise in such a case the following:
Get a clinical evaluation, examination and investigations done under the care of a General Surgeon and request to get this bump be removed for 2 reasons:
1. you get rid of the disease which is not a normal part of the body.
2 you get the confirmed diagnosis by sending the bump for histo-pathology examination.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you need to or if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. The only other thing I was wondering about are the chances of this being cancerous. It feels even smaller than a pea, but you can never be too sure.
