Suggest Treatment For Soft Tissue Injuries Of Knee Joints

Question: 4 years back, I had injured my knee while skiing. It was healed in a month, and it was fine for 1 year, it used to cause very minor pain during treks etc.

After two years due to heavy running and trekking, it started paining more. I had shown to multiple (3) doctors, they took xrays, MRI etc. Everyone says, it would be healed with time (with little leg exercise). Even after so many months it's same - discomfort while walking, pain while jogging...

Is there any way I could start running again? Or should I give it up, and live with this discomfort in my knee forever?

thanks in advance!

Brief Answer:
Get diagnostic arthroscopy done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

From your history, it seems that you have some old soft tissue injuries of knee joints. I think you have to get diagnostic arthroscopy of your knee, because in case of old soft tissue injuries which are some times missed on MRI scan etc can be best evaluated by arthroscopy. Did MRI show any positive findings? Please upload the reports of the previous tests, so that I am better able to help you.

Till then you should do regular quadriceps strengthening exercises as upload on you tube.

Take painkiller like ibuprofen only when required.

Till your arthroscopy, you should not start running.

Apply hot packs for 30 min in morning and evening .

I hope it helps.
