Question: I have chronic fatigue syndrome, this week I have had a severe sore throat, sinus infection and cankers in my throat and I was wondering if that is part of my disease or something else. I have been on Keflex 500 mg 4 times a day for six days and I feel worse.

Brief Answer:
Chronic fatigue and infections

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you have had an upper respiratory infection this past week and needed antibiotics. This is not at all related to your chronic fatigue syndrome. These type of infections are just part of living. With chronic fatigue you are more susceptible to infection due to perhaps lower immune response but not anything out of the ordinary. the best thing to do to prevent infections is frequent hand washing, keep your fingers away from your eyes and face, eat regular well balanced diet and get plenty of rest.

If you complete your antibiotics and do as I recommend above with rest and diet you should feel better soon. You just need to give the antibiotics time to work

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
