Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Bruising On Buttocks After A Fall
Question: A week ago I fell down the stairs landing hard on left butt cheek. Iced immediately. Experienced heavy bruising and a "dent" / knot under butt cheek. Of course a lot do immediate pain and then soreness to touch or sit on butt cheek for a couple of days.
Was very sore to touch but no trouble walking / bowel movement etc.
Bruising has gone down considerably as well as most soreness to sit but I am worried about the knot. It hurts and is an uncomfortable feeling. I've had many sports injuries in my life - it does not seem anything is broken (is more towards middle of cheek, not tailbone) but I am concerned about this dent / knot. Does this require medical attention? How long until this would go away? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
The dent should heal with time; Don't worry
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
It's really a big bruise and you are really lucky.
The described dent/knot is because of muscle rupture with edema surrounding the area. This will take time to heal (4-6 weeks).
I would like to treat you with -drugs like trypsin /chymotrypsin, ibuprofen along with thrombophob ointment. Your local pharmacist / GP might know about this product.
Hope this helps and I shall be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
