Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Numbness On Scalp After Injury

Question: Fell and hit the back of my head on the garage floor. Do not remember falling. I did cut my scalp slightly woke up back in the house sitting in a chair. No real headache Scalp is sore and feels a little numb. No bleeding from ears or nose. I am more concerned about no being able to remember the fall. No vision issues. Should I seek further treatment? This happened four days ago

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

You had cerebral concussion (mild brain injury) from blunt trauma, causing amnesia (retrograde) & mild headache and ? loss of consciousness.

Post-traumatic amnesia, in which events following the injury cannot be recalled, is a hallmark of concussion.

You may may undergo brain imaging (MRI) and take rest. Consult preferably a Neuro-surgeon as head injury may have lucid interval.
