Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Pain In The Knees
Post operative complications follow advice!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Firstly thanks for choosing health care magic for your query ,
Have noted all your detail.
You have not mentioned when exactly was the replacement done.
Soreness and pain around the newly constructed joint is a very common problem encountered post knee replacement, improvement is most notable one month or more after surgery. The pain caused by the damaged joint is relieved when the new gliding surface is constructed during surgery. But body will take few months to get adapted to the newly constructed joint and cartilage. pain, swelling, and bruising are a normal part of the recovery process following knee surgery. It usually takes months for the body to recover fully, old age further delays the recovery.
However, there are ways to manage the pain and ease your recovery.
-Oral pain medication for up to several weeks can be taken. These include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) ,as ibuprofen is not helping you much ,a combination of Diclofenac sodium plus paracetamol plus serratiopeptidase could be considered for few weeks.
Serratiopeptidase is a very potent anti inflammatory medicine .
Serratiopeptidase has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and is particularly useful for post operative swellings and inflammation, combined with a NSAID the potency increases further .Serratiopeptidase is also renowned for its ability to reduce pain by blocking the release of pain-inducing molecules from inflamed tissues.
Chymotrypsin and Trypsin combination can be use along with it to promote inner healing of the wound,Swelling (edema), especially those caused by inflammation caused by trauma. This medicine is a highly effective in the treatment of swelling and can quickly reduce edema.
Along with it Glucosamine and chondritin supplements could be taken,Glucosamine is a naturally occurring substance found in the fluid around our joints. It is naturally present in animal bones, bone marrow, shellfish and fungi. Glucosamine plays a vital role in building cartilage.
You can discuss all the options with your treating doctor.
Apart from this PHYSICAL therapy is indicated;
TENS unit can be used- TENS unit to stimulate blood flow and reduce pain to your knee and the surrounding area. TENS stands for “transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation." These devices deliver electrical currents to the skin and may reduce nerve pain. Therapist may also provide massages or show you how you can stimulate the muscles and tissue surrounding your knee.Hot water fomentation can also relieve pain and soreness.
In case you have any further query i would be happy to help you,
Thanks,

Cardiologist and Physician.
My reason for requesting a cardiogist here is for a different perspective in possible circulation or other unknown. Pain is not a concern; reason for pain is. Thank you.
Usg color doppler to be done to see the blood suplly of lower limb
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Many surgery causes a lot of wear and tear to the surrounding area muscles ligaments and other structures ,every part of the body including your legs have a main blood vessel which carries blood from aorta to the leg ,At the level of leg this main artery divides into small subsidiary branches (atrterioles) which further branches into a number of small and minute blood vessels(capillaries) ,which supplies muscles tendonds and ligaments, these vessels are called cappillaries and arterioles. They are very minute run along the muscle tendons and joint abd supplies them.
While operating a surgeon can protect the large vessels friom damage but a number of arterioles ,venules, capillaries and perforators are damaged due to the wear and tears in operation,in medical science there is a rule that every body is different and how a body will respond to a particular intervention depends on the body .
In your case though the main blood vessels are perfectly alright (as blood pressure can be auscultated),yet the problem is because small blood vessels and terminal branches have not regenerated as expected.
A compromised blood supply to small muscles causes ischemia leading to soreness and pain .Get physical therapy regularly ,massaging your legs can help to rejenuvate capillaries again!
Howerver i would advice you a arterial doppler of the leg ,any blockage in blood supply in any major artery will be reflected in arterial doppler.
Dont take any pain killler ,NSAIDS are contraindicated in heart patient though you can take tramadol if required!
Advice
Color doppler usg of both lower limbs
Nerve conduction velicity test of lower limbs !
We can reach a conclusion only after the results of these tests!
In case you want any other explaination ,i would be happy to help !
Please do write a review !
Thanks.
