Suggest Treatment For Spinal Stenosis

Hospitalization can offer no additional benefits.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I understand the dismal situation that your mother is in. But we, doctors, broadly divide treatment into surgical and conservative. In case of the necessity of surgical interventions, treatment cannot be done at home and so hospitalization is essential. In case of conservative management, there are scenarios calling for intravenous administration of medicines or for close and continued monitoring of parameters. It is in those cases we resort to hospitalization. At other times, or after the requirement of acute monitoring or intravenous therapy has resolved, we prefer to send the patient home on oral medication. That does not mean that the patient has recovered completely. It simply means that there is no additional benefits that hospitalization can offer. Moreover, hospitalization always bears the risks of hospital acquired infections and other problems that you would not have at home. So, at the present stage your mother would be better off at home and simply needs a wholesome food and the loving care and support of family.
