Question: I had knee surgery for torn cartlidge about a month ago. I went to a few Physical Therapy appointments, but had to stop due to insurance issues. But anyways I have several papers of exercises to do, and I do them everyday. However it still feels stiff and aches all the time. It actually aches in my whole leg, like it's tired. My other leg is getting sore because I stillam compensating for my injured leg. Just wasn't sure if this is normal to still be having issues or not. Or how long could this take to heal ?

Brief Answer:
Your pain will improve with time

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think that pain in knee can be due to following causes.
1.Muscle weakness
2.Post surgery inflammation or infection
3.Cartilage damage
As you have mentioned that this pain and stiffness in more of like tiredness so I believe that it is due to weak muscles. It is always good if you do exercises under supervision of a physio, but as you are doing it your self there is no harm. Your muscle strength will improve in a month.
I would recommend you following.
1.Avoid squatting and sitting cross leg.
2.Hot water fomentation.
3. Vlitran ointment
4. Tablet calcium and vitamin D 3 to improve bone quality.
I hope these steps will help in improving your pain. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks

I was told by another doctor that it could take several months for the all the pain to subside, and heal. And to continue the physcal therapy, and take medication for the pain. As I do sometimes get just pain concentratd in the knee itself. It is not swollen or anything, or feverish. So I don't think it's infectd. I just wasn't sure if a surgery for something like this really is considered a serious injury, and take awhile to heal after surgery.

Brief Answer:
This pain will go in next one month

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Arthroscopy surgery is not very traumatic but can cause pain for some time. Physiotherapy is for improving muscle strength and improvement of fatigue pain. I do not think that this pain will persist beyond 2 months.
You should do hot water fomentation and exercises. Volitran ointment application can be done, If there is severe pain than you can take Tablet Brufen but i would not suggest you to take pain killer regularly.
Thanks

I have had a stomach virus for a couple of days. Been taking motrin when my stomach allowed. Today I still have semi loose bowels, but there was bright red blood in them. They are not black or tary, and I am not in pain. Just wondering if this is just an irratation, from the motrin, or having the flu and using the restroom frequently. Or is this something I should be concerned about. And if it is ok to take a diarea medication. I am drinking gatorade today to replace electrolytes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I do not think that Mortin is right choice for Diarrhoea as it is just a pain killer. I would recommend you to follow these steps.
1.Stool examination
2.If there is bacteria or parasite in stool Ciprofloxacin -Tinidazole combination tablet twice daily.
3.B complex daily.
4.Plenty of fruit juice and water.
I hope this treatment will help you. Diarrhoea medication is not good if there is infection. Electrolytes are good.
Thanks
