Rule out stomach infection stool culture
Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM,
Child has contacted some stomach infection.
It needs to be investigated in terms of Stool routine examination and stool culture sensitivity.
Stool report will guide us for the type of infection and also about the exact bacteria involved. It will also tell the required antibiotics to be used.
Combination of antiamoebic drug (metronidazole) and antibiotics preparations in the form of syrups are available with the local chemist like (bacigyl N, Largyl N).
These can be started empirically at this moment till the result of sensitivity is received with consultation of your pediatrician. Dose of ofloxacin to be given @ 10 to 20 mg per kg per day for at least 7 to 10 days.
Hand to mouth hygiene to be given utmost importance.
Hydration to be taken care.
Feeding bottle to be boiled every time. Better not to use feeding bottle.
Semisolid diet to be encouraged
Hope the query is answered.
Please feel free for the further clarification.
Thanks

dal rice, soups etc
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
14 months old child can be given plenty if things available in the vicinity like different type of dal, rice, curd, potatoes, soups, all type of mixed vegetables, biscuits, cakes, milk preparations, even soft bread, potatoes, stuffed parathas, seasonal fruits, etc.
Importance to be given to those eatables which are easily, routinely available in the community.
Eatables should be tasty and soft. And should be given in small amount but frequently.
Thanks
