Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat
Question: I have a sore throat the Dr. ran the test for strep throat could I still get it
Brief Answer:
if you do not have strep throat, it is not likely to develop
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The test for strep throat is used commonly to check for this bacterial infection. Like all tests, it can have false negative results though this is not the case for most persons.
If you do not have strep throat at the moment, it is not likely to develop.
Most acute sore throats are viral. Some signs of strep throat are: (1)If there is prolonged fever for more than 3 to 4 days
(2)severe throat pain that may be worsening
(3)pustules/pus on the tonsils
If you do have any of the above, then you need to be reassessed.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
