Suggest Remedy For Nasal And Chest Congestion In Children
My daughters had a cold/flu(fever,cough,congestion) for about a month. She just finished antibiotics. Doctor said virus went bacterial due to persistent fever. Her chest and nasal congestion never left and again seems to have returned now with brown nasal discharge. Do I see a doctor again? She's 3.
Understanding your concern. As per your query nasal and chest congestion in children is because of viral infection/ upper respiratory infection. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist/ pediatrician once and get it examined. Doctor may order blood tests and x-ray chest. Doctor may order pulmonary function tests to detect level of infection. Drink luke warm water on daily basis. I would suggest her to do warm saline gargles three times daily. You should give her hot milk boiled with half a teaspoon of turmeric. Taking decongestant nasal spray can also be relieving. If she feels pain and discomfort in body or throat taking painkillers like Ibuprofen Or Paracetamol can be relieving. Avoid cold beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
