Brief Answer:
?? Love handles?

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. If you do not mind, please let me know if the swelling is towards the lateral side (right of your right hip bone) or more medially (left side from your right hip bone), just so I have better clarity on the exact location.

If you are talking about the jelly fat like substance laterally lying on top of your right hip bone, are you sure you are not talking about your love handles? Love handles form the curves in women around the waist, and are more related to hormones as they are typically associated with oestrogen. If this is the case, then this is perfectly normal and is absolutely nothing to worry about ma'am. :)

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.

More toward the middle of y stomach. I think it just may be constipation as I do have IBS occasionally

Brief Answer:
IBS and/or constipation can cause bloating, but not a swelling or lump

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

Constipation and IBS can cause abdominal bloating and pain in the region described, but a fat pocket or swelling is unlikely to be caused due to either of these conditions. It could just be the deposition of belly fat, or a temporary swelling related to IBS.

I would recommend a physical examination by a doctor whenever you go in to meet a doctor next, but in my opinion it doesn't seem like any cause for concern or anything that may require immediate management.

If you do not mind, please do attach a clear image of the exact region and also holding the swelling in one picture so I can approximately estimate what it is; but in 1 picture hold it and in the other let me look at it without you holding it.

Please do attach the images to our discussion here or email them to me at:

and please do mention "ATTN: Dr. Shoaib Khan" in the subject line so it can be easily directed to me.

Best wishes.
