Brief Answer:
Muscle tear or tendon tear

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This sounds you have a sudden tear of the tendon or the few fibres of the calf muscle.
Rest, Ice packs, elevation, compression of the area is the first aid. It is important to get the uLtrasound done to understand the nature of injury.
Sometimes we find venous thrombosis as a the cause of similar pain in such a case we schedule a doppler study of the vessels of the particular leg.

Hence I suggest you to get this evaluated by the primary care doctor without delay.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
