Question: Hi!
I am suffering from pcos and hirsuitism with overweight....I have swelling in my left leg and have done kidney MRI,stone test, serum prolactin thyroid droppler test etc... All are normal but unable to recover the reason for swelling and pain in legs along with lower back pain..Please suggest?

Are you having pain in just one leg ?
Or is it in both legs ?
Please get the following investigations done -
1. Blood pressure.
2. Calcium and Vitamin D levels.
3. Kidney function tests.
Next , have assessment to see if you are having varicose veins.
ALso, sciatica sometimes can cause pain along one leg.
How significant is the swelling - can you upload a picture ?
Also, please mention your weight and height.
Sometimes, obesity itself can lead to swelling in the legs.
Also, standing for prolonged periods can cause this
Try and elevate your legs by using 1 - 2 pillows at night.
For your weight loss, it is best to consult a Dietician and stick to a strict dietary schedule and have exercise with a personal Trainer.
Endometriosis also can infiltrate pelvic nerves which can lead to pain in the legs.
Please consult your gynecologist for assessment of these conditions, in addition to the tests suggested additionally by me.

Thanks for suggestions but the test you have told are already done and are normal. further endometriosis was there before pregnancy now it is not there. ....

Try to lose some weight and elevate your legs at night.
Restrict salt intake.
Immerse your feet and soak them in a tub full of hot water.
Endometriosis is notorious for recurrence and relapse, it typically quietens during pregnancy and breastfeeding and again recurs at times.

My Endometriosis has also been checked few months back . it is normal. but pains in both legs water retention is there swelling is more prominent on left leg...and I am trying to loose weight and am on metformin 850mg twice a day....and on dietician diet...please help...
